Hiring a Search Engine Marketer?

Janet Driscoll Miller penned a great article with six tips on how to get hired in the field of search engine marketing (SEM). The tips are a great foundation for “getting yourself out there” and I preach them regularly when counseling peers on finding a new job.

The bottom line is: forget about job sites like Career Builder and HotJobs. Focus on LinkedIn and networking… but before you start your search, you should take Janet’s advice and start marketing (and packaging) yourself now, before the time when you actually need to find a job. Then, when you need to start looking, you’ll have a jump on the competition.
